Airdrop token $FLOP, Hayes announces a fair launch without pre-sale

By: cryptonomist.ch|2026/08/25 09:34:05

The $FLOP token, co-founded by Arthur Hayes of BitMEX, has announced an airdrop to engage users in the agentic economy. Currently, the trading volume is at 0, but the initiative aims to build an active user base through a rewards mechanism linked to a unique digital identity. The airdrop does not involve pre-sales or allocations for institutional investors, with Hayes describing it as a '100% fair launch.' Distribution is expected in the fourth quarter of 2026, while the genesis block of the Flop network is anticipated in the first quarter of 2027. To participate, a DID key will be required, and completing specific tasks will entitle users to tokens. The market is watching cautiously, as without trading volumes it is difficult to gauge real interest. No whitepapers or details on tokenomics have been published, and the lack of information on total supply and team allocations makes the actual adoption of the token uncertain. The expectation is that the airdrop could improve market sentiment and encourage participation.
