Bill Gates Proposes Creating a List of Professions for Humans to Protect Against AI
Co-founder of Microsoft Bill Gates has stated the need to reserve certain professions exclusively for humans to prevent their displacement by artificial intelligence. Gates noted that world leaders are not adequately prepared for the changes that the new technology will bring, and that transformations will require a more serious institutional response than the measures taken after the September 11 attacks. He proposed the idea of a "human reserve," comparing it to nature reserves where human professions should not be lost. Gates also pointed out that existing tax systems encourage the replacement of workers with automated systems and supported proposals for radical tax changes, including a special tax on the use of robots and taxation on tokens processing AI data. He expressed concern about the impact of AI on youth and education, emphasizing the risk of dependency on algorithms and the negative influence on critical thinking. Earlier, a global regulator called for increased oversight of AI in the financial sector.
