Bitwise Chief Investment Officer Matt Hougan stated that institutional investors may inject trillions of dollars into Bitcoin over the next decade, as financial advisors, family offices, pension funds, and sovereign wealth funds begin to view Bitcoin as a mainstream financial asset. Hougan anticipates that this process will take more than 10 years, with global institutional assets controlled between $100 trillion and $200 trillion; just a 1% allocation would be sufficient to support Bitcoin's long-term price targets. He predicts a Bitcoin price target of $1.3 million by 2035, assuming Bitcoin captures a 25% share of the value storage market, which is expanding at a sustained annual growth rate of 13%. Hougan noted that Strategy was once the largest buyer, but the introduction of spot ETFs has diminished its premium advantage, and its debt issuance capacity has narrowed, leading to a slower pace of purchases in the future.
