Changes in France on September 1, 2026
On September 1, 2026, several changes will come into effect in France. The maximum duration of sick leave will be extended to 31 days for a first absence, with a possible extension of 62 days, except for exceptions related to the patient's health. For electric vehicles, measures will facilitate their rental or purchase for home care aides, the services that employ them, and taxis. The purchase or rental of an electric vehicle from a professional seller will be eligible for the Energy Savings Certificate (CEE) bonus. The MaPrimRénov' scheme will be restricted, covering only the installation of decarbonized heating systems and domestic hot water production. Finally, companies will need to be ready to receive electronic invoices, while large and medium-sized enterprises will have to issue these invoices and transmit their transaction data to the administration. Small and micro-enterprises will have until September 1, 2027, to comply.
