Prices for mature memory products such as DDR4, Single-Level Cell NAND (SLC NAND), and NOR Flash are experiencing increasing upward pressure. As major manufacturers shift their production capacity towards high-value products, the supply gap for existing industrial and server memory is widening. Morgan Stanley forecasts that DDR4 prices will rise by 50% in Q3 2026 and by over 10% in Q4. Single-Level Cell NAND is expected to increase by more than 50% in both Q3 and Q4 of 2026, with supply shortages potentially continuing until 2027. There is also a possibility of further price increases for NOR Flash in Q4 2026. The supply shortage of mature memory is occurring as memory companies prioritize investments in the latest DRAM, multi-layer NAND, and AI server products. The absence of long-term supply agreements (LTA) may not be favorable for traditional memory companies, and during supply shortages, pricing power could increase. Morgan Stanley has raised its profit outlook for Micron Technology, Winbond, Gigadevice, and Powerchip. AP Memory has been highlighted as a preferred choice due to its C-CAP business.
