xAI's Grok Build has reached version 1.0.0 as of August 7. The initial beta release was on May 25, transitioning to the v1.0 system after just over two months. This version includes dashboard summaries, an expanded modal, a permissions request screen, and a remote work resume feature. The text copy functionality for Chinese, Japanese, and Korean has also been improved, along with error display methods. Grok Build was initially released to subscribers of SuperGrok and X Premium Plus. On May 29, xAI began the public beta of Grok Build 0.1 on its API, with a processing speed of over 100 tokens per second, priced at $1 per million input tokens and $2 per million output tokens. On July 15, Grok Build Harness was made open source for user review. As of August 11, the official documentation describes Grok Build as an interactive terminal user interface (TUI) and a coding agent for headless execution, also supporting the Agent Client Protocol (ACP). The Grok 4.5 model has been applied, and the product range has expanded with developer tools. xAI continues to release Grok series models, stating that the official repository is under the Apache 2.0 license but does not accept external contributions. Developer interest is reflected in the xai-org/grok-build repository, which has garnered 24,700 stars and 4,700 forks.
