Hotel 'Odessa' May Become Housing for Displaced Persons

The 'Odessa' hotel complex may be used for the temporary accommodation of internally displaced persons. Acting head of ARMA, Yaroslav Maksymenko, discussed the implementation of this mechanism at a meeting of the inter-factional deputy association in Odessa. The complex includes 175 rooms designed for 2-4 people. ARMA is considering reserving part of the rooms for displaced persons in future management contracts. The Law of Ukraine on ARMA allows for the transfer of seized properties for management through a competition or by decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, with the condition of accommodating IDPs. The reform aims at the effective use of assets and addressing socially important issues. ARMA manages residential properties and hotels with a total area of about 36,700 square meters, which can provide temporary housing for over 4,000 displaced persons. ARMA also plans to attract investors for the management of seized assets.
