Lukoil to Restore Refinery Operations Three Weeks After Drone Attacks
Russian company Lukoil plans to resume operations at its oil refineries within two to three weeks following attacks by Ukrainian drones. The company's founder, Vagit Alekperov, stated that all measures are being taken to restore the refineries' operations, although this may take time. The statement came after Vladimir Putin's decree on the nationalization of enterprises affected by drone attacks. The decree allows for the transfer of "critical infrastructure facilities" to the "temporary management" of Rosimushchestvo in cases where timely measures to ensure their security are not taken. The list of companies that will face claims contains 167 items but remains confidential. The Ukrainian armed forces continue to strike Russian oil refineries, and by early September, all major Lukoil refineries had been shut down. On August 26, Nizhny Novgorodnefteorgsintez, one of the top five refineries in Russia by capacity, ceased oil processing.
