Meta Launches Personal AI Assistant Muse, Monthly Fee Up to $100

Meta Platforms has launched a personal AI assistant application called Muse, which allows users to delegate digital tasks such as scheduling appointments, filling out forms, and monitoring home cameras to the AI assistant. Muse is powered by Meta's Muse Spark series of foundational models, offering a free version as well as subscription services priced at $20 and $100 per month. Muse operates in a standalone isolated environment within Meta's computing infrastructure, ensuring it does not access users' actual passwords or payment information, and will request confirmation before performing sensitive operations. Users can choose whether to allow Meta to use the interaction content with Muse to train AI models; if they opt in, Meta will delete key personal identification information before using it for model improvement. At the time of this product launch, Meta is facing pressures regarding AI safety, privacy issues, and returns on AI investments. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated that personal AI assistants will be a direction for the company's future products and revenue growth, and that they are exploring business models related to shopping transactions with AI assistants.
