Metaplanet Transfers 2,400 BTC to Coinbase, Valued at Approximately $186 Million

Metaplanet, a Japanese company known for its Bitcoin accumulation strategy, has transferred 2,400 BTC to Coinbase Prime in about three hours. At the time of the transaction, this amount of Bitcoin was valued at approximately $186 million. Metaplanet currently holds around 43,000 BTC with an average purchase price of $96,191/BTC, giving its Bitcoin portfolio an estimated total value of about $3.48 billion. Large transactions from corporate wallets to trading platforms are often monitored as they may be related to selling activity. However, there is no evidence that Metaplanet has sold the 2,400 BTC. Coinbase Prime offers custody services, liquidity management, and asset operations for institutional clients, so the Bitcoin transfer may serve custody purposes or asset restructuring. The market is awaiting Metaplanet's next move to assess whether the company will change its accumulation strategy.
