OpenClaw 2.0 Released with Participation of 933 Developers
OpenClaw has released a new version, "OpenClaw 2.0," marking the largest update in the project's history, with 933 developers participating and over 16,000 pull requests merged, accounting for about half of all pull requests merged in the project's history. This update focuses on lowering the barriers to use, automatically recognizing existing ChatGPT, Claude subscriptions, API keys, and local models during installation, thereby reducing manual configuration. The browser side has been revamped, allowing users to chat directly, continue tasks, and manage sessions, with support for multiple users to join or take over the same task. The update also involves messages, memory, skills, models, automation, plugins, security, and native apps. Over the past 230 days, OpenClaw has released 106 versions, and the team acknowledges that the release pace has been too fast, with the underlying architecture and release process unable to keep up; they will continue to reduce the update frequency in the future.
