Owners of luxury cars paid 166.8 million UAH in transport tax in 2026

In the first half of 2026, owners of expensive cars paid 166.8 million UAH in transport tax, which is 61.2% more than in the same period last year (103.4 million UAH). The largest tax amounts were paid in Kyiv - 46.7 million UAH. The top three also included Dnipropetrovsk region (15.7 million UAH), Lviv region (12.6 million UAH), and Odesa region (12.4 million UAH). The tax applies to cars no older than five years, with a value exceeding 375 minimum wages as of January 1 of the reporting year. The tax rate is 25,000 UAH per year for each car. Individuals receive notifications with the tax amount, which must be paid within 60 days. Legal entities calculate the tax themselves and pay it in advance quarterly. From January to May 2026, 8,978 owners of luxury cars paid the tax, with a total amount of 140.2 million UAH, which is 47.1% higher than the figures for the same period last year.
