Park Hyun-joo Plans to Increase Investment in DigitalX by Up to 300 Billion Won
Park Hyun-joo, chairman of Mirae Asset Group, announced plans to increase investment in DigitalX by up to 300 billion won. This is based on the premise of DigitalX turning a profit, and Chairman Park stated at an employee meeting held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Gwanghwamun, Seoul on the 26th, "We have already decided to increase investment by 50 billion won, but if we make a profit, we will do an additional increase next year." He mentioned that he seeks an investment increase of between 200 billion and 300 billion won from strategic investors. Additionally, he instructed to consider opening participation opportunities in the third-party allocation capital increase for customers using DigitalX. DigitalX is the new corporate name of Korbit, and Mirae Asset Consulting has increased its stake to 97.15%. DigitalX held a board meeting on the 12th and resolved to conduct a third-party allocation capital increase of 50 billion won, with an issue price of 4,961 won per share. This capital increase is structured so that the largest shareholder will acquire all the new shares, and if the additional increase mentioned by Chairman Park proceeds, the scale of capital expansion is expected to grow even larger. He hopes that DigitalX will grow into a global investment platform and has outlined the direction for the virtual asset exchange.
