Poland Proposes Joint Production of Patriot Missiles with the USA and Ukraine
Poland has proposed to the USA to establish joint production of missiles for the Patriot air defense systems on its territory. Poland's Deputy Minister of Defense, Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czerniecka, voiced the proposal during a visit to Washington. She noted that such a format of cooperation involving the USA, Ukraine, and Poland would address US security concerns regarding the placement of production in Ukraine. Poland also suggested creating a service center for the maintenance of Patriot interceptors. Sobkowiak-Czerniecka emphasized Poland's advantageous geopolitical location and the development of the country's defense industry. Patriot systems are in high demand worldwide, making joint production attractive for Poland. Previously, Trump stated that the USA could provide Ukraine with the opportunity to produce Patriot missiles; however, launching such production could take at least a year or more. Ukraine will produce interceptors in collaboration with the American company Raytheon.
