Polymarket has been selected as the official prediction market partner for Italy's Serie A in the United States. This contract is a multi-year agreement that links the league's brand and official data to prediction market products. Serie A announced the partnership with Polymarket on May 14. Polymarket will have brand integration rights across Serie A's media and digital channels in the U.S. The market will utilize official data from Serie A, with data services provided by Genius Sports. This agreement does not involve broadcasting rights but includes the use of the league's brand, the utilization of official data, and the status of being the prediction market partner in the U.S. The prediction market allows users to buy and sell contracts based on the outcomes of specific events, with contract prices interpreted as participants' judgments on the likelihood of outcomes occurring. Polymarket founder Shain Coplan stated that the next phase of sports engagement will be defined by increased participation. Michele Chikaresse, marketing director of Serie A, referred to the U.S. as a key growth market for the league. Polymarket is also expanding its partnerships with other leagues such as MLS and La Liga. However, there are ongoing regulatory jurisdiction conflicts between the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and state governments.
