Prices for Ukrainian Cheese Will Rise in Autumn

By: delo.ua|2026/09/02 06:48:19

By the end of summer, the Ukrainian cheese market faced logistical problems and product losses in retailers' warehouses, leading to a reduction in assortment and less accessible promotional offers. The decrease in imports of foreign cheeses opens opportunities for domestic producers. Rising cheese prices in Europe make imports less attractive, and distributors are more cautious in placing new orders. It is expected that there will be fewer discounts on cheese in autumn, and base prices may rise after a period of stability. Ukrainian exporters will find it difficult to raise prices in external markets due to pressure from Russian and Belarusian producers, whose products have become cheaper. In August, cheese production in Ukraine slightly increased compared to last year, with enterprises ramping up production of hard and white varieties despite the challenging market conditions. Earlier reports indicated a reduction in the production of hard and semi-hard varieties due to decreased demand and competition with European products.
