Remote Dismissal via 'Diia' for Workers in Occupied Territories
The Ministry of Economy and Environmental Protection of Ukraine has launched a beta test of a remote termination service for citizens who remain employed in temporarily occupied territories. This service is intended for individuals who cannot work due to occupation or military actions but are legally still in employment. Previously, to terminate an employment contract, one had to contact the State Employment Service or the employer. Since the beginning of the war, 11,714 citizens have approached employment centers with requests to terminate their employment relationships. The new service is processed remotely through the 'Diia' application, where the user submits an application and signs it using 'Diia.Signature'. The system verifies the employer, records the dismissal date, and updates the data in the registers. Dismissal occurs automatically the day after the application is registered. The beta testing will last for two weeks and is available for 658 citizens who pre-registered to participate. The service will be available to all users after the testing is completed. Adults of Ukraine who are officially employed in occupied territories, have an RNN, ID card, or biometric passport in 'Diia', and do not have unemployment status could join the testing. The service is part of the digital labor market system 'Obriyi', developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
