Reopening of Domestic Flights at Bandar Abbas Airport, Handling 35-40 Flights Daily

By: www.tokenpost.kr|2026/08/16 02:11:00

The Bandar Abbas Airport in southern Iran has resumed domestic flight operations. Flights connecting major cities such as Tehran, Mashhad, and Isfahan have started, and it is reported that the airport handled 35 to 40 flights daily before the conflict. This resumption of operations is primarily focused on domestic flights, and while some airport functions have been restored, the normalization of international flights has not been confirmed. Bandar Abbas is a military hub adjacent to the Strait of Hormuz, and the operational status of the airport is considered an indicator of the civilian transportation network and regional tension levels. The Strait of Hormuz is a key passage for Middle Eastern energy logistics, and disruptions in navigation can impact oil prices and risk-averse sentiment. Recently, Japan has demanded safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz from Iran, and the resumption of flights and maritime navigation negotiations are related to the tension flow in the southern transportation and logistics network of Iran. In the cryptocurrency market, tensions in the Middle East may act as an indirect variable, but no direct link has been confirmed between the resumption of airport operations and cryptocurrency price fluctuations.
