RippleX expects XRP Ledger agentic transactions to reach 10 million soon

Agentic transactions on XRP Ledger recently surpassed 1 million, with RippleX's head of engineering predicting rapid growth to 10 million and potentially 100 million in the next few years. Agentic payments are initiated by AI-powered software on behalf of humans, allowing for programmable payments without traditional banking. The technology's appeal has grown as developers envision AI agents autonomously paying for data and services. Ayo Akinyele emphasized the need for frictionless payments on XRP Ledger, which offers quick settlement times of three to five seconds and predictable transaction costs. Ripple is a premier member of the x402 Foundation, which facilitates automatic payments for APIs and online services. While most current transactions involve payments for APIs and data, efforts are underway to onboard real-world merchants, enabling agents to purchase physical goods and services.
