SemiAnalysis: Samsung Leads HBM4 Technology, SK Hynix and Micron Face Challenges
On August 31, SemiAnalysis released a podcast stating that SK Hynix and Micron are facing challenges in achieving the highest HBM4 speeds. SK Hynix needs to redesign its base chip, resulting in delays in HBM4 supply to NVIDIA's Rubin platform. Samsung currently possesses the best HBM4 technology, and Broadcom has traditionally relied on Samsung's HBM supply. Although Samsung performed poorly in the HBM3E generation, it is now leading competitors with HBM4, creating a supply chain advantage for Jalapeño.
