Strategy CEO Reveals Bitcoin Acquisition Strategy
Phong Le, the CEO of Strategy, made statements regarding the company's Bitcoin buying and selling strategy. Le noted that selling Bitcoin in the range of $60,000 to $65,000 and then buying it back at $80,000 is not contradictory, as both actions are considered correct decisions. One of the main reasons for the company selling approximately 7,000 BTC was stated to be the financing of preferred stock dividends. Le emphasized that it is more important how capital is obtained rather than the price of Bitcoin itself. Strategy may sell Bitcoin depending on market conditions and can make purchases at higher prices. The company has created a reserve of approximately $7 billion by reducing its net debt to zero over the past two months. Le expressed that under current conditions, it has become more logical to use the capital obtained from selling new shares during periods when MSTR shares are trading at a premium for Bitcoin purchases. He also mentioned that purchases could continue even if the price of Bitcoin rises to $90,000, $100,000, or even $130,000.
