Trump's Approval Rating Drops to 40.6%, a New Low for His Second Term

On July 31, political analyst Nate Silver pointed out that due to the war in Iran and soaring gasoline prices, Trump's approval rating has fallen to a new low for his second term this month. According to the American Automobile Association (AAA), the average price of gasoline in the U.S. as of Friday morning is about $4.11 per gallon, up from $3.15 a year ago. Based on average polling data from Decision Desk HQ, Trump's overall approval rating stands at 40.6%, with a disapproval rate of 57.5%. A Quinnipiac University survey shows that 60% of American voters oppose the war in Iran, the highest opposition rate since the conflict began. Nearly three-quarters of Americans do not support sending U.S. troops to Iran. An AP-NORC poll indicates that 64% of Americans believe the war is "not worth it," including 87% of Democratic voters, 37% of Republican voters, and 68% of independent voters.
