AMLBot, a company specializing in crypto compliance and blockchain forensics, has launched AI Tracer—a tool for self-conducted blockchain analysis that reconstructs the flow of on-chain funds from a single transaction hash and generates a visual graph and understandable report. This was stated in a release provided to Incrypted.
The solution addresses a problem that has existed practically since the emergence of blockchain analytics as a separate field: to trace the path of a transaction, specialized software with a high entry threshold or several hours of manual work in blockchain explorers are still required. AI Tracer eliminates both of these complexities, the developers note. The tool can be tried for free—without prior setup and onboarding.
In 2026, AMLBot's report on crypto crime, based on the company's own practices and data from over 2,500 investigations, showed that 65% of incidents involving cryptocurrencies were related to social engineering.
Investment fraud, phishing, and device compromise led the number of cases. These are not protocol-level hacks handled by specialized information security teams. The victims of such attacks are ordinary users and small business representatives—those groups that find it most challenging to trace what happened to their funds after an incident.
Today, money laundering is increasingly happening almost automatically, experts say. Malicious actors attacking users and crypto services actively use blockchain bridges to move assets between networks. For an attacker, such a transition costs almost nothing, but it significantly increases the workload on the investigator's side.
From the perspective of a blockchain investigator, it looks like this: the transfer is split among several intermediary wallets, then moved to another network, and after four transitions, the user is presented with a long list of addresses, making it easy to get lost. Without professional training, turning this data into a coherent answer is extremely difficult. It is at this stage that the differences between existing tools become particularly noticeable.
Blockchain explorers—Etherscan, Tronscan, and their analogs for other networks—are free, publicly accessible, and for most users, they are the standard starting point. However, they actually answer a different question: the explorer shows only one transaction at a time.
To reconstruct the full path of funds, the user has to open a separate tab for each transition, manually record addresses, and completely switch to another explorer if the assets are moved to another network. The formats of transactions may differ, so tracking must continue manually.
Moreover, blockchain explorers typically lack attribution by default. Such a service shows that funds have arrived at a certain address but does not inform whether this address belongs to Binance, a blockchain bridge contract, or a crypto mixer.
For analyzing a single transition, this may be sufficient. However, when dealing with a money laundering chain specifically built to fragment funds between wallets and networks, a manual approach often leads to losing the trail precisely where it is most critical, AMLBot notes.
Professional analytical platforms, on the other hand, solve the attribution problem. They maintain databases of entities that allow matching a blockchain address with a specific name or service. However, working with the results of such platforms requires blockchain analytics skills: the user builds the graph independently and interprets it, and understanding which connections need to be tracked and which can be excluded from the analysis is itself a professional task.
This includes licensing, procurement procedures, onboarding, and associated costs. Such solutions are primarily aimed at compliance departments and law enforcement agencies with dedicated budgets.
As a result, the same situation arises on both sides. People who most often need to trace the path of a transaction are least likely to have their own analyst or a separate budget for professional tools. At the same time, solutions capable of answering their questions require at least one of these resources.
AMLBot has developed AI Tracer to bridge this growing gap: on one side are criminals using complex money laundering schemes, and on the other are private victims of theft, independent journalists, and other members of the investigative community working under limited resources.

The user simply needs to paste the transaction hash and select the blockchain. After that, the process is executed automatically: the AI analyzes the transaction graph, traces the flow of funds from the originating address through intermediate wallets to the final point reached by the assets, and matches each detected wallet with known entity labels—exchanges, services, and addresses previously marked as suspicious.
As a result, the user receives an interactive graph of the complete flow of funds and a report available for download.
AI Tracer supports Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, TRON, Ethereum, BNB Chain, Ethereum Classic, Polygon, Arbitrum, Base, Optimism, Solana, Cardano, and Ripple, including cross-chain transfers.
The tool operates on the same tracking mechanism that AMLBot specialists use during cryptocurrency-related investigations. Its methodology is based on the company’s years of practice.
AMLBot positions AI Tracer as a universal blockchain analytics tool. Typical use cases include:
AMLBot openly outlines the limitations of the tool alongside its capabilities. AI Tracer only tracks visible on-chain movements. It cannot see operations within cryptocurrency exchanges, as transfers between users' internal accounts are not recorded on the public blockchain.
The tool shows where the funds were directed but does not explain why a specific payment was made. The interpretation of the obtained data remains with the user.
AI Tracer also does not guarantee refunds, does not freeze assets, and does not replace financial audits or legal procedures. At the same time, the data generated by it can serve as a starting point for further investigations, audits, or appeals to the relevant authorities.
