DeFi Development Expands Holdings to 2.33 Million SOL with Resumption of Solana Purchases
DeFi Development Corp., the first publicly traded company in the U.S. focused on accumulating and compounding Solana (SOL), announced on the 27th that it has resumed purchases of Solana. The company acquired approximately 19,000 SOL at an average price of $98.14, increasing its holdings to approximately 2,333,432 SOL and equivalent assets.
This purchase was partially funded by income from the sale of its stake in the ZeroStack business. The newly acquired Solana will be held as a long-term financial asset and managed through the company's staking and on-chain financial infrastructure.
For the week ending August 21, DeFi Development became one of the most actively traded stocks among publicly listed Solana financial companies. It ranked first in the ratio of trading volume to market capitalization and recorded the highest absolute trading volume on several trading days.
Additionally, over the quarter, Solana outperformed the Nasdaq 100 Index by 33%, while DeFi Development's stock price exceeded Solana's price movements by 1.8 times during the same period. It was also revealed that the company's stock price increase rate surpassed Solana's by more than double on a monthly cumulative basis.
On the 26th, the company also announced the launch of a data platform called "State of Solana," which allows real-time tracking of Solana's network status and market trends. Users can view a wide range of data, including SOL prices, staking conditions, and validator decentralization metrics, all on a single screen.
DeFi Development plans to continuously add new datasets, visualization features, and research tools to expand this platform.
