Few and Far Founder Taj Tarsha Indicted by U.S. Department of Justice
The U.S. Department of Justice has announced that Taj Tarsha, the founder of Few and Far, has been formally indicted on charges of securities fraud and wire fraud. Prosecutors allege that he raised investment funds through false statements and used part of the funds for personal purposes, including gambling and luxury spending. The indictment reveals that after an audit in 2023 discovered irregularities in fund usage, Tarsha provided misleading explanations to investors, claiming that the related expenditures were in line with project development needs, while continuing to maintain the illusion of project operations, which led to the departure of most Few and Far employees and a near halt in project development. Tarsha is also accused of obtaining nearly $1 million in personal gains from company funds through undisclosed bonuses and high salary arrangements, some of which were not disclosed to investors or the company's co-founders. Prosecutors state that Tarsha raised over $10 million from at least 67 investors by selling approximately 95 million FAR tokens but failed to invest the funds in project development as promised, instead using investor money for online casinos, purchasing speculative cryptocurrency assets, paying for a Miami apartment loan, home renovations, and personal DJ events. The U.S. Department of Justice emphasized that financing for cryptocurrency startup projects does not exempt one from traditional financial regulations, and investors have the right to receive truthful information about the use of their funds. Tarsha was arrested on June 6, 2026, and the case will be heard by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
